Behold the 12 Holy Nights CONCENTRATION.
A Complimentary Spiritual Exercise & Twelve Day journey into the Heart of the Matter…into the Arms of the Mother, Father, Friend, Beloved God.
This journey is meant to enliven & revivify the blood, to dissolve doubt & fear, to midwife the birth of the Higher-Being through the Womb of Remembrance, to bring clarity regarding the Tasks at Hand & to develop the INNER capacities to PERCEIVE what stands behind the material world.
Each concentration will provide a series of short readings that merge to reveal a Sacred Task given through THE WORD.
The readings will be a marriage of voices from those who are pioneering the Science of Spirit, or HEART-thinking.

What helps us to achieve this? Anthroposophia, she opens our hearts and births our Higher egos...”
Through this cascade of readings, you are being asked to read between the stars.
You are pioneering a new way of thinking.
It may not be easy to weave the golden thread, but keep putting one foot in front of the other.
Allow the "mood of soul” that births within as you read one passage to merge with the “mood of soul” from the next.
In the end, practice uniting all soul moods that have arisen into ONE. You do not have to understand every word with your mind, but rather bring the questions (perhaps intense questions or confusion) into your heart and let them gently work upon you.
Ponder in your heart.

“26 December - Libra: This is St. Stephen’s Day, and full of a very deep wisdom, which was at work within the Christian calendar of the Saints, and which called up the imaginations appropriate to the Festival. St. Stephen was the first martyr, and through him, Saul became Paul. Stephen’s manner of meeting death, with absolute conviction, caused something to happen with Saul, which led him to receive Christ later at Damascus. Stephen’s death throws a mighty decision into the world. If he met his death differently to that dramatic sureness of the Resurrected Christ, Saul would never have become Paul, and we are all aware that Christianity would have suffered irreparably thereby.”

“The Second Holy Night - WATERMAN - ANGELS - NIGHT OF DECISION.
You might wonder why I have this night designated as the night of angels, where in another offering it is designated the night of Archangels, It is simply for this reason:
In a sense the 24th of December could be said to be the night of the Fishes, and therefore the first Holy Night, the reason being that it is the night of Adam and Eve, or the first human beings. That is one standpoint. It can also be said to be the 13th Night as previously discussed from a different standpoint. For one must understand that one can observe a phenomena from both an earthly and a cosmic aspect. From the Earthly aspect the 24th of December is the day of Adam and Eve and in that sense the first Holy Night, but from a Cosmic aspect it is the 13th Night making the 25th of December the First Holy Night cosmically speaking. It is for this reason that we see differing views on this, but all views are reconciled when one understands what viewpoint one is observing it from. Having said that, in the present contribution I will be giving you the macrocosmic viewpoint.
So this night macrocosmically speaking is related to the Angels. It is a night of decision.
Our angels are intrinsically connected to our souls and our human destiny. The Etheric body being our second member, is their lowest member, but they are on their way to one day spiritualising it into Budhi or Life Spirit, or Cosmic Love.
Similarly, our astral body is our third 'member' and was elaborated on the Old Moon when the Angels were passing through their human stage. When spiritualised our astral bodies will one day be what the angel's highest member is now - Manas or Cosmic Spirit Wisdom/ Spirit Self.
In this sense we have once again both etheric and astral, love and wisdom connecting us with our angels.
We must imagine that our angels being so intimately connected with us, develop through us. Yes, incredible as it may seem, without us they cannot achieve their highest goal, like a coach is only as good as the wins made by the team he coaches.
Rudolf Steiner tells us in connection with Angels that,
'...certain spiritual beings achieve their development through men who evolve together with them.'
It stands to reason therefore, that angels are at different levels of development because of the human beings they guide. And they are forced to remain connected to them, and cannot move on to become Archangels until they have developed Manas.
This is a most shattering fact, that can only fill us with a deep sense of responsibility.
According to Rudolf Steiner, in our time, our guiding angels wish to impart certain imaginations for the future which have to do with the Light and the transformation of matter and Love, the transformation of the soul. These imaginations or pictures are being created in the Astral body of human beings, Rudolf Steiner tells us:
'The Angels form pictures in man's astral body and these pictures are accessible to thinking that has become clairvoyant. If we are able to scrutinise these pictures, it becomes evident that they are woven in accordance with quite definite impulses and principles. Forces for the future evolution of mankind are contained in them. If we watch the Angels carrying out this work of theirs — strange as it sounds, one has to express it in this way — it is clear that they have a very definite plan for the future configuration of social life on earth; their aim is to engender in the astral bodies of men such pictures as will bring about definite conditions in the social life of the future.'
What are these pictures striving to achieve?
Firstly Rudolf Steiner tells us that an impulse towards brotherhood will be given to human beings so that they will develop a deep interest in the other.
Secondly an impulse will arise to see the divinity hidden in the other.
'The Angels have certain objectives in view, not only in connection with the outer social life but also with man's life of soul. Through the pictures they inculcate into the astral body their aim is that in future time every human being shall see in each and all of his fellow-men a hidden divinity.' Rudolf Steiner.
Thirdly an impulse will arise that through thinking an unquestionable insight into the nature of the world will be achieved.
These three aims for the social life and for the human soul are at the foundation of the imaginations or pictures that the angels are elaborating in our Astral bodies.
Firstly let us look at the interest we have in our fellow human beings.
When we meet a person, we immediately use our senses, our eyes perceive that person physically, our eyes in particular take in the overall details of the person's face, skin, hair eyes, mannerisms, the ears take in the sound of the voice and the words that travel on this sound, but along with these sense impressions, we are receiving other impressions which we don't notice, because we are taken with the outer physical appearance as it is illuminated for us by physical light.
However another process is always taking place with every sense perception and to ignore this, in the future, will be to sin against our fellow human beings. It is to show no interest!
What is interest spiritually speaking?
Let us look at an ordinary meeting more closely . In order to perceive someone or something, a spiritual process must occur, your astral body must move out of you and actually become one with the person or thing you are perceiving, it enters into what it perceives so that it can return to draw or imprint what it perceives with light on the etheric body. During ordinary sense perception we perceive the physical image defined by physical light and remember it in the soul, but what is supersensory is also entering and being drawn with light - a spiritual light. This is a spiritual image - an after image of what we see physically. That is why working with after images and complementary colours is so important. This after image is an impression of the soul of that person, which lies hidden for physical eyes but not to the eye of the soul.
When we stand before them, we show interest by closing our eyes and experiencing the after image which has been created inside us of that person.
This already brings us to the realm of brotherhood, for one who can achieve this, 'feels' the other inside them, for the after image is a soul image and the soul imprints its pain or happiness in our own soul. This is true interest, and it will lead to true brotherhood.
However, when the after image dies away that is when we come to the divinity in the other. For behind this after image, woven in us by spiritual light, there is darkness, but in this darkness is where one finds the arising light of Christ which has entered into our soul carried into us by the soul of the other.
If enough people develop this sense then they will know that in every human being, regardless of what religion he or she belongs to, Christ lives. For Christ is at the centre of all religions, which really only see Him from different standpoints.
This will lead to a future in which there will be complete freedom of religion, for religion will be seen as a Karmic path that leads to one view of Christ in that incarnation.
Now when we enter into the other, be it a person or an animal or plant or process, and we become aware of the after image we are using the organ ordinarily used for thinking in order to perceive. Thinking therefore becomes an organ with which we develop an unquestionable insight into the nature of the world around us, animals, plants, weather, processes, in the world we come into contact with the elemental beings that live in nature and enter us with every sense perception.
One could say that the wisdom of the angels enters us as light in order to kindle the opportunity for the development of love, for interest is spiritual love. A higher form of love.
We must develop this love, this interest for all that is around us, and this love unites us consciously with the world and other human beings.
If through the year we have filled our souls with the light of love and in so far as we have then on this holy night, our angels guide us consciously in our sleep to higher beings that can help us to lay down seeds for our work in the coming year in February.
John the Baptist relied on his angel to open his eyes and show him the one who would become the vessel of Christ. He was the highest initiate of the old tradition. Through Christ he united his ego with Lazarus John who, as St John told his followers to 'Love one another.' He was the initiate of the future.
It is for this reason that this night is the Night of John the Baptist and John the Divine.
Our angels must respect our freedom. But they have their own development to achieve. It may be that if they cannot work with us consciously in the night they will strive to do it in that part of us that is unconscious and this could lead to dire results for them and for us.
'Here lies the great danger for the age of the Spiritual Soul. This is what might still happen if, before the beginning of the third millennium, men were to refuse to turn to the spiritual life. The third millennium begins with the year 2000, so it is only a short time ahead of us. It might still happen that the aim of the Angels in their work would have to be achieved by means of the sleeping bodies of men — instead of through men wideawake. The Angels might still be compelled to withdraw their whole work from the astral body and to submerge it in the etheric body in order to bring it to fulfillment. But then, in his real being, man would have no part in it. It would have to be performed in the etheric body while man himself was not there, just because if he were there in the waking state, he would obstruct it.'
Our task during this Holy Night is to be guided by our angel in our striving for consciousness of their work. It is to carry the love the interest we have had in the world and in others over the course of the year into the night so as to develop a higher consciousness of the work of our angels. For if we do not do this, then the impulses that enter into our unconscious sleep life in our etheric bodies will have nothing to do with us, for in ordinary sleep we are no in our physical and etheric bodies. This will work against brotherhood, against seeing the divinity in others and against the nature of the world itself.
We see this everywhere we look today, the effects of the work of the angels in the sleepy etheric bodies in the blood of human beings. An unconscious impulses for brotherhood results in egoistic sexual aberrations, the unconscious impulse for seeing the divinity in others will lead to an understanding of the fundamental nature of the etheric body and thus the origin of illnesses which will also lead to the ability to create illnesses and the drugs and vaccines to relieve and prevent them, and the unconscious impulse for experiencing the elemental beings of nature will result in unleashing of destructive mechanical forces for egoistic purposes.
Yes we see all these today, most especially in the last ten years, we have seen a kind of sexual confusion spread over the earth, we have seen a pandemic, we are seeing human mastery of mechanical forces in robotics etc.
These are signs that the work of the angels is being ignored but what is the effect for them?
We must recall what I mentioned earlier that angels have as their lowest member the etheric body. If you recall what we spoke about on the first night regarding the etheric body, that it should be kept pure and free of materialism, you will realise how important this is for angels, who cannot experience the physical world. The closest they can come to such an experience without becoming evil is through our thinking life, that is why Rudolf Steiner lays so much importance on developing thinking. While we do this, while we use thought as an organ of perception we are keeping our angels 'pure'. If we do not do this we are responsible for their downfall.
Rudolf Steiner tells us that,
'Certain Angels would then themselves undergo a change — a change of which I cannot speak, because this is a subject belonging to the higher secrets of Initiation-Science which may not yet be disclosed.'
I have disclosed this change in one of my books, for the time is now right, we are standing at the grave of civilisation and the time is shorter and shorter for the above signs show clearly that human beings are falling and taking their angels with them. The end product will be that angels will 'Fornicate' with matter through their human beings! That is, not live purely in the thinking life of human beings alone, in the astral body, but they will pollute their etheric bodies by experiencing the physical sense world through human senses in a kind of vicarious 'possession'.
For spiritual love can become something baleful, instinctive when it is applied to the physical body by way of the etheric body.
This causes the Fall of something super human. In the Apocalypse of St John the fall of Babylon is this human fall, human beings become 'black magicians' - think of what a man from the middle ages would say of a person who tell what is happening on the other side of the world with a wave of a hand over a tablet? Human beings fall because of their love of matter, because they neglect the spirit. What falls next is a super human fall. The fall of higher beings who must fall with their humans!
In the same way that every night our communion with our angels relies on what we have done on the previous day, to a much greater and more concentrated degree does what we have done throughout the year have a bearing on our communion with our angels during these Holy Nights. For on these Holy Nights the heavens stand open, and so we have to face our judges. Those who can plainly see how much we have become entangled in matter during the course of the preceding year, how little consciousness we have developed because we have had little interest in others, little interest in the world. Rudolf Steiner tells us:
'Can waking life ever be harmful to sleep? Yes — if waking life is not what it ought to be! If a man spends his waking life as it ought to be spent, his sleep will also be healthy, and if in his waking life he is drowsy or lazy, happy-go-lucky or indolent, then his sleep too will be unhealthy. And it is the same in regard to the waking life we acquire as the result of our study of Spiritual Science. If Spiritual Science enables us to establish a true relation to the spiritual world, our interest in the familiar facts of physical life will be guided into the right channels — just as a healthy waking life brings order and direction into sleep.'
Hence we are told we must spend these Holy days in such a way that interest is kindled, spiritual love so that at night we develop consciousness in our sleep, not merely for our sake and the sake of the world, but for the sake of the Angels.
That is why Rudolf steiner tells us:
'The anthroposophical attitude posits the conviction that our thoughts and ideas must find other ways of taking effect besides the way through our deeds in the physical world. Recognition of this essential principle implies that the anthroposophist must play his part in watching out for the signs of the times. A very great deal is happening all the time in the evolution of the world; and it is incumbent upon men, particularly the men of our own time, to acquire real understanding of what is going on in the evolutionary process in which they themselves are placed.'
That is why this is a night of decision. We must become conscious of what our weakness are and decide to work towards developing our souls to strengthen these weakeness. We must decide to become beings of our time awakened beings! Beings who can understand not merely earthly events but also how the spiritual world weaves into them!
May we become ever more awake to the work of our angels on this night.

“I Use.”
How can I use THE WORD to impart living, breathing wisdom here on earth thereby transmuting egoism (inverted USE) into Love?
“Let there be prayed from the Depths
What in the Heights will be granted.”
Bring over the fruits of your labor from yesterday as you read the following WORD:
Thou didst baptize me in the flood of Thy grace.
“Parental blood in my veins and milk of mother breasts were the waters that baptized me in the consciousness of flesh.
My soul, confined in a fragile frame, cried for release. Within the fenced garden of the charming senses no more I loved to abide.
Then the cloud of Thy silence burst, O Lord! Its merciful drops rained upon me and became a flood of Thy grace. The river of Thy Spirit overran the boundaries of my soul and baptized me in blissful waters of eternity. The little bubble of my being dissolved and melted in Thine omnipresent sea.”
What is the Essence of Day 2?
“Heart speech, the Word, Inspiration.
Let us imagine, dear friends, that during the Holy Nights we can surrender ourselves to the spiritual world and become an open book, a book in which higher beings can read the events of the world around us, and in which they can write the directives for remedying the imbalances in that world and in our own souls.
We have the opportunity during these nights, when the spiritual world is more open to humanity than it is at any other time during the year, to become inspired!
During our first holy night we took with us into our sleep the consciousness we developed by raising what we experience of the world with our senses which forms the foundation of our thinking to a higher level - the level of imagination. If we are good balanced observers of the world we take with us what we have seen as a form of prayer, like incense and this surrender of all we know informs the spiritual world so that it can help humanity.
Let there be prayed in the depths...
So on this second Holy Night we now have the opportunity to ‘hear’ what the spiritual world can tell us about what they have read in our souls.
What from the heights is answered...
The first Holy Night belongs to the angels, who are particularly concerned with imagination, with the picture quality of our thinking. If we have developed pictures that are balanced these are accepted by our angels who then take these to higher beings, the Archangels.
Now the Archangels are particularly connected to speech and all that is found in the connection between larynx and word, all that is ‘inspiration’. For what is inspiration if not a ‘breathing’ in of the spirit, in the same way that we breathe air into our lungs.
When we breath air in, we can only speak when this air is once again expelled. We take in air, it enters our lungs and oxygenates our blood so that we can think and create concepts and it is this concept and thinking creation that results in ‘dead’ forces being in our blood - carbon dioxide. The de-oxygenated blood we breathe out again, and in our time it is this dead air that we use to speak.
This was not so in the past, in the past human beings still had a connection to the spirit in the air, they breathed the air in and out and the spirit entered their soul, so that their blood was less full of death, this meant that their speech was more connected to the spirit. Words had more meaning.
In our materialistic age, and materialism in thinking, words have lost their meaning because of the dead forces in our blood which we expel with every word. If we are to develop living speech we must rise higher to the spirit in light.
When we have spiritual thoughts, thoughts not connected to sense perceptions, but to imaginations, for instance if when reading this you are creating pictures in your head of the words on the screen then you are using less oxygen and you have less carbon dioxide in your blood. Spiritual Thoughts become spiritual words accepted by the Archangels and on this night, this is very important...
The Archangels have a particular connection to the Divine Sophia or the Kyriotetes, the highest being of wisdom...
One can imagine the Sophianic forces of Anthroposophia, who was once incarnated as the Luke Mary and who gave birth to the Luke Jesus, as a larynx or womb through which the spirit moves in order to utter the word of Christ. Words move on the wings of warmth just as the ego lives in the warmth of the blood!
What is this warmth if not love?
But love requires not just the word but ears to hear it.
What must happen for us to speak?
A conversation, is more than just speaking, for it to be a true conversation there must be an active listening. This active listening transforms the wisdom in speech into love and reflects it back to the speaking soul...
The listener teaches the speaker! Hence we are one another’s teachers and pupils!
So it is that the spiritual world rejoices when we engage in conversation because what lives in the space between our words and a listening ear is Christ. It is Christ who transforms in us the words of wisdom spoken by another into love.
But we can only reach this stage if we have overcome, on the first Holy Night, our own opinions and judgements. if these are silenced. Only then can we hear Christ in the words of the other. We must surrender ourselves to Christ through the other on this night.
Christ then inspires us to say what is necessary at the right time and in the right place. So that our words can be a comfort or a clarion call!
-this becomes like a human ‘Intelligence’ which is a reflection of the Cosmic Intelligence!

What does Active Listening LOOK and FEEL like?
SEE into what you FEEL as you read the following:
“‘In the cool of the inner court of the house, she sat beside him and waited for his questing soul to open its doors to her, as she had opened her soul to him. When finally he spoke, however, it was not of intimate things, but of the destiny of men.
He told her that in the beginning, humanity was like a child, it crawled and walked and learnt and came of age. Now it was grown old and entering into decline. He had seen it clearly from his twelfth birthday.
‘Before that, I remember only dreams … grass and sky and rain and the smell of sheep …’ he said to her, ‘I remember my mother’s heart too, in my ear, and the whispers of angels …’
She nodded, remembering that many had shunned him for being addled.
‘But on the steps of the Temple a bewildering happening took place which I didn’t understand at first. Afterwards, I lost my mother and my life changed. My eyes lost their ability to see the dream-full spaces of heaven, since everything became sharp-shaped and clear to them. I began to forget all that was spontaneous and pure, and from that moment, in forgetting, I began to remember other things and to accustom myself to looking with different eyes … with the eyes of wisdom … eyes that were not mine.’
He looked at her sorrowfully. ‘What I saw caused such loneliness in me! Ah, my mother! If only you knew! That is why I fell into silence, and could barely speak for the pain of it!
During my stays with my teachers in Jerusalem, I saw and heard the decadence of their teaching, how it had lost its life, how it was no longer given out of direct knowledge. I realised with sorrow that if the prophets came again, no man would understand them!’
‘Oh, Jesus!’ a sob was caught in her throat for his words. ‘How your sensitive soul has struggled! But think of Hillel, my son! He was a great teacher of the law! In my time he spoke with a voice so sure and powerful. Could such a man not recognise the voice of the prophets if they were to return again?’
Jesus’ face, lit meagrely by the penumbral light, was gravely cast. He said, ‘Hillel was wise, it is true … but there are no more Hillels!’
With these words, a coldness settled over her and she pulled her shawl close and hugged herself to keep from shaking. ‘How can this be true?’
He recounted his journey to the pagan lands, and spoke to her for the first time of the downfall of their temples. He told her of his experience at the altar, where he had fallen as though dead, and where he had heard the Bath-Kol in all its terrible splendour. After that, he recounted his experiences with the Essenes and his disappointment with their ways, and he told her of his meeting with the being called Buddha.
‘I am alone!’ he said to her, ‘There is nowhere left to turn! This has been my last realisation. All has fallen into decadence and there is no truth left in the world. No light of hope can brighten the darkness that lies ahead! I have seen the portent of humanity’s future suffering and the destruction of the world!’
She stifled a sob with her hand, for the entire burden of Jesus’ sorrow had moved into her on the wings of his words, and they had formed in her mind a vision of what he had seen with his eyes - an entire panorama of calumny and misfortune. Mariam’s hands and arms lost their strength and she felt faint.
‘What will you do?’ she asked him.
‘There is a man in Judea who baptises with water for the remission of sins. He announces the coming of the Messiah, who will bring youth to the soul of the world. This Messiah will speak forth the voice of God and reverse the words of the Bath-Kol, to unite us with what we have lost.’
‘What are these words that you speak of, my son?’ she asked.
‘Aum, the evils hold sway …’
When he finished the ancient prayer, Mariam sat in stillness, allowing the words to resound in her soul.”
CONCENTRATE upon the following as you Actively Listen:
Lovingly Surrender the lower ego (i.e. judgement, opinion & one-sidedness) for but just a moment…a Divine Breath.
Behold THE WORD with the immaculate Heart.
Invite ANTHROPOSOPHIA to Baptize you in the New Water, the “Draught of Remembrance.”
“We receive our impressions from the world; we turn them into experience through our senses and through our understanding, through all the manifold effects they have upon our soul; and later we are able to call up again pictures of what we have experienced. We bear these pictures within us; they are for us our inner life.
It is indeed as though we had within us a mirror; but one that works differently from the ordinary spatial mirror. For the ordinary mirror reflects what is in front of it in space, whereas the living mirror we carry within us reflects in quite another way. It reflects the sense-impressions we receive, and reflects them in the course of time. Something or other — at some later moment — causes this or that impression to be reflected back again into consciousness, and so we have a memory of a past experience.
If we break a mirror that is in space, then we can see behind it; we can look into a realm we cannot see when the mirror is intact. Correspondingly, if we carry out inner exercises of the soul, we come, as I have often suggested, to something like a breaking of the inner mirror. The memories can as it were cease for a time — for how long a time depends upon ourselves — and we can look more deeply into our inner being. As we do this, as we look within behind the memory-mirror, then what I described as a kind of centre and heart of destruction meets our gaze.
There must needs be such a centre within us, for only in such a centre can the Ego of man establish itself. It is a centre for the strengthening and hardening of the Ego. But, as I said, if this hardening of the Ego, if this egoism is carried out into social life, then evil ensues, evil in the life and actions of men.
You may see from this how complicated is the life into which man is placed. Here you have something which has its good use and purpose within man, for otherwise he would not be able to develop his ego, but something which must never be allowed outside. The bad man carries it into the outer world; the good man keeps it inside him. If it is carried outside, it becomes evil and wrong. If it is kept within, it is the very thing we need to give the Ego its right and proper strength.
After all, there is really nothing in the world that would not bring blessing to man, were it only in its right place! We should be thoughtless and unreflecting, if we lacked this centre within us. For this centre enables us to experience in it something we would never be able to experience in the external world. In the external world we see objects in a material sense, and following the custom of present day science we speak of the conservation of matter, the indestructibility of matter. But in this centre of destruction it really happens that matter is destroyed. Matter is thrown back into nothingness, and we have the power within this nothingness to cause the good to arise. We do so, if instead of instincts and impulses, which are bound to work in the direction of egoism, we pour moral and ethical ideals into the centre of destruction. Then, in this very centre of destruction, the seeds of future worlds arise. Then we, as men, take part there in the coming into being of worlds.
When we speak, as you may read in my Outline of Occult Science, of how our Earth will one day suffer dissolution, and of how out of all manner of intermediate states of transformation the Jupiter existence will eventually be evolved, then we have to see it in this way. The Jupiter existence will contain nothing but the new creation that is being formed to-day in man within this centre of destruction. It is being formed out of man’s moral ideals, but also out of his anti-moral impulses, out of what works as evil from his egoism. Hence the Jupiter existence will be a battle between the good which man, already here and now, is bringing to birth by carrying his moral ideals into his inner chaos, and the unmoral and anti-moral which is due to the presence of egoism.
Thus, when we look into our deepest selves, we are gazing upon a region where matter is thrown back into nothingness...
When we are able to penetrate into this inner core of evil in man, and are able also to become conscious of how into this evil, where matter is destroyed and thrown back into chaos, moral impulses can find their way, then we have really found in ourselves the beginning of spiritual existence. Then we perceive the spirit within us in the act of creating. For when we behold moral laws working upon matter which has been thrown back into chaos, we are beholding a real activity of the spirit taking place within us in a natural way. We become aware of the spirit concretely active within us, the spirit that is the seed of future worlds.
With what can we compare this finding? We cannot compare it with what our senses tell us of external nature. We can compare it only with a communication made to us by another human being through speech.
What we can hear externally with our ear is a speech toned down for the earth-world, but within us a speech is spoken that goes out beyond the earth, for it speaks out of that which contains the seeds of future worlds. There we penetrate into what we must call the “inner word.”
In the words that we speak or hear in intercourse with other people, hearing and speaking are separate and distinct, but in our inner selves, when we dive down below the memory-mirror into the inner chaos, we are in a region of being where speaking and hearing go on at the same time. Hearing and speaking are once more united. The “inner word” speaks to us, and is heard in us.
It is not only an inner word; it is at the same time something objective. It is not our inner being that speaks: our being is merely the stage whereon speaks the world...
By means of love and devotion and surrender, accordingly, man presses his way through the tapestry of the senses and sees beyond; and the Beings who reveal themselves to him when he thus offers up his own being in full surrender — these Beings he comes to perceive with the help of what he recognises as “inner word.” The world without begins powerfully to resound when the inner word is awakened.”

Man is the sole connecting link between nature and the spiritual world, for the consciousness of nature runs in the HORIZONTAL, whereas human consciousness is capable of establishing the VERTICAL connection with the Spiritual World.”
